Certes
Environmental Laboratories, L.L.C. (Certes),
is an independent analytical testing laboratory located in Carrollton, Texas.
Certes is validated by the U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers, was audited by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality
(TCEQ), and is certified by the states of Oklahoma and Arkansas to perform environmental
testing. We are also certified by the State of Texas General Services Commission as a "Historically
Underutilized Business", and by the North Central Texas Regional
Certification Agency and various other states and entities as a
"Woman-Owned Business Enterprise.
We provide an
array of environmental chemistry and analytical support services to
environmental professionals within the private and public sectors throughout
the United States. Services cover analytical needs ranging from
compliance to assessment and remediation to site closure, including: Inorganic
and organic analyses; lead in paint, wipes and soils; analytical special
studies; microbiological services; and environmental matrices (liquid, soils,
air, etc.).
Certes is committed
to quality control and customer service. We incorporate independent services to
provide certified reference material and maintain internal "blind"
quality assurance samples in liquid and solid matrices. We were recently
recognized for 99% accuracy on the most recent WP on 126 analytes (national
average was 91%); 100% demonstrated on recent TX 1006 proficiencies; and 100%
accuracy for soil VOC, SVOC and metals proficiencies (done voluntarily by Certes). We utilize the American Standard
Testing Method (ASTM), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) methods
and quality assurance protocols, Standard Methods for Water and Wastewater, and
follow the EPA's quality assurance protocol to provide analytical results that
you can trust.
Your account receives
personal attention from a senior member of our staff who is
responsible for managing each of your projects. This
assignment ensures their ability to discuss all aspects of
your project from start to finish, including data
interpretation.
Certes has expanded its facilities
to 16,200 square feet, increasing space for its metals and
general chemistry departments and creating a new glassware
wash facility. Upgrades include an enclosed
positive-pressure volatiles laboratory completely isolated
from the semi-volatile and extraction laboratories. This
laboratory, in conjunction with the negatively pressured
extraction and sample preparation laboratories, was designed
to reduce the possibility of cross
contamination.
Our capacity and our ability
to meet emergency turnaround times have been enhanced
substantially by the acquisition of instrumentation and the
incorporation of automation in sample preparation and
analysis. In the Organic Laboratory, five (5) Gas
Chromatograph (GC) Purge & Trap for volatiles analysis;
Six (6) Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometers (GC/MS), three
(3) dedicated to volatiles, three (3) to semivolatiles, and
four (4) GCs with FID for petroleum analyses. Inorganics
recent acquisitions include a second Inductively Coupled
Plasma Spectrophotomer (ICP), one (1) Ion Chromatography (IC)
for Anion and Perchlorate, and three (3) Hot Block Digestors
and Mercury Analyzer, with autosampler, minivap distillation
for Cyanide, Phenols and Nitrogens.
Certes is bringing data to
the next level! TRRP 13 Guidance document became effective in February 2003. Data
validation and reporting, comparison to PCLs and APAR tables have added
complexity and increased the level of effort and time for the data user. Let Certes be your inTRRPreterTM.

TRRP
is bringing data to a whole new level of reporting and documentation, and Certes stands ready to bridge the gap with inTRRPreterÔ.
All
of the members of our laboratory staff have extensive education and technical
training in their fields, which account for over 95 years of combined
experience. Our philosophy is client service satisfaction, and our commitment
to perform outstanding analytical services is acknowledged from the Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) to the preparation technician. We are certain (where
the name Certes is
derived) that you will be pleased!
